Hüseyin Sekercioglu were born in Kayakent, a village about one hundred miles from Eskisehir, Meerschaum Pipe Capital of the World. Hüseyin worked on the family farm until he was sixteen.
In 1976, he moved to Eskisehir. Within a few months, he began learning the pipe making trade as a sander and stem finisher under Master Carver Necdet Altinay. After a lengthy apprenticeship of eleven years, Hüseyin eventually learned all the aspects of pipe making.
In 1987, Hüseyin established his own pipe making company. His pipes have the special "SMS" logo on the stem, your guarentee of a genuine SMS Meerschaum of the highest quality.
